Hòutǔ, ‘the Queen of the Earth’ has many names, Hòutǔshén, ‘Goddess Queen of the Earth’, Hòutǔ Niángniáng ‘Deep Earth Lady’, also Dimǔ ‘Mother Earth’). She is the deity of deep earth and soil in Chinese religion and mythology and is believed to help create the map of the Yellow River to ensure the river flowed the right way.

Take part in our Hòutǔ marathon and you too can help shape the planet in her honour by planting 15 trees.

Entries will need to be submitted by 9th January 2024 to be counted within the race. Your seeded medal, if you’ve ordered one, will be sent within 5 working days of the closing date by 2nd class post.
